

LEXINGTON – A memorial service to honor the life of Margaret R. Wingard, 93, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., prior to the memorial service. The graveside service will be private.
Mrs. Wingard was born on October 8, 1922, in Orangeburg County to the late John Gary and Maude Funchess Robinson. She was married for 44 years to the late Joseph Owen Wingard, Jr. and is survived by three children; Joseph Wingard, Ronald Wingard and Lisa Honkonen. Margaret was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Aiken. She was a graduate of Rowesville High School and received a nursing degree from Orangeburg Regional Hospital. She was a devoted Registered Nurse for over 40 years, working in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
In addition to her three children, survivors include daughters-in-law, Leslie Wingard, Holly Wingard and Deborah Van Horn; son-in-law, Jeff Honkonen; sisters, Gloria Robinson and Linda Rawl; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wingard was preceded in death by brothers, John William Robinson, Heyward Robinson, Marion Robinson and sister, Carolyn Floyd.
