

Maureen was born on April 5, 1950 in Jacksonville, FL to Durwood Thomas Daniels and Pauline Gwaltney Daniels, and grew up with a close-knit family in Morganton, NC. She married her husband, Phillip Maxwell Spangler, on February 21, 1971, and together they raised their son, Rush.
Maureen had a long and successful career as a nurse, and was highly respected and admired by her colleagues and patients. Mo (Maureen's nickname) served as the Director of Perioperative Services at Lexington Medical Center, where she was known for her exceptional leadership and dedication to patient care. Countless friendships were forged during her career with many lasting until this day.
Maureen was a devoted Christian and was actively involved in her church community. She had many friends through her church, and she loved spending time with them. She was also an accomplished crafter and enjoyed making handmade gifts for her loved ones. She and Phil were the co-founders and Senior Vice Presidents of the Happy to Be Here Club where the only requirement for membership was to bring joy to others. Maureen enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach.
Maureen is survived by her son, Rush; daughter-in-law, Julie; grandchildren, Alex (Kayla) and Victoria (fiance J. D. Morlan); great-granddaughter, Khloe; brother, Jim Daniels (Violet); sister, Kathy Rowland and beloved labradoodle, Rosie. She was preceded in death by an infant son and her husband of 47 years, Phillip.
Maureen-Mardi-Mo will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, compassion, and loving nature touched countless lives, and her legacy will live on through her family, friends, and colleagues. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved husband in Heaven.
A celebration of life service will be held at First Baptist Church of Lexington, 415 Barr Road, Lexington, SC 29072 at 11:00 a.m., April 13, 2023. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
