LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Ray Robert Richmond, 91, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with interment in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the funeral home.
Mr. Richmond was born on December 11, 1923 in Lynn Camp, West Virginia and passed away on
Friday, October 23, 2015. He was a graduate of West Virginia University and served aboard the battleship USS New York during WWII Pacific Campaign. He was married to Mary Lou Williams. Prior to working for Litton Industries, he worked for NASA on communications network development for 16 years. He retired from Litton Industries in Lexington, SC.
Surviving are his 3 children, Linda Richmond Janssen and her spouse, Dennis D. Janssen of Clive, Iowa, Deborah Lee Wrobel and her spouse, Gregory Wrobel of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Kevin Ray Richmond and his spouse, Valerie Richmond of Kernersville, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Richmond; brother, Kenneth Richmond and sister, Hazel Maslowski.
