He was an Army veteran having served in Vietnam, and a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and the Jim Clark Sunday School Class. He was a graduate of Lexington High School, Class of 1961.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet Frye; sons, Allen Frye (Melanie) and Mark Frye; sister, Janice Lorick (Tommy); two grandchildren, Bailey and Laurel Frye; a number of nieces and nephews; and grand dog, Bodhi.
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his sister, Essie Mae Long.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Red Bank Baptist Church, 1357 S Lake Dr, Lexington, SC 29073, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place in the church cemetery following the service.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
The family wishes to thank the 6th floor nursing staff, especially Chantel, for their kind and compassionate care during his short hospitalization.
