Robert was born March 11, 1937 in Sneedville, Tennessee. He was the son of Grant and Pauline Moore. He retired from TVA and came to South Carolina to open his own insurance office, Cayce Insurance, and then retired after 20 years of service.
Bob loved bluegrass music better than soup, beans, and cornbread. He played his guitar and sang, and spent many days and nights at Bills Pick n Parlor.
He believed that for every problem there was a solution. He was a devout Christian, attended Edmund First Baptist Church regularly for over 10 years, and loved Jesus. Bob never met a stranger. Every person he encountered was treated like family, and they treated him the same. He was a man of many talents, whether it was building fences, or rebuilding motors, he could do just about anything.
Robert is survived by his sisters, Inez (Ray) Smith and Patricia (Junior) Shopshire; his wife of 42 years, Barbara Shope Moore; his daughters, Deanna (Jerry) Ramsey, Melissa Brisentine, and Kimberly Dando; and son, Jaimie Smith; grandchildren, Kristin, Kayla, Alesha, Breanna, Brianna, Kecia, Kenise, Kacey, Turtle, Allen Tyler, Shandella, and 21 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM on Sunday February 11, 2024 at Caughman Harman Funeral Home-Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29073. A graveside service will follow at Gollahon Cemetery in Sneedville, TN.
