Sam Mayzes, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at the age of 62. He was a man whose life was defined by his deep love for his family, his unwavering faith, and his kind, steady presence.
Sam is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberly Mayzes, and his five children: Tommy Manley (Rebecca West), Paul Manley, Kimberly Manley (mother of Willow Manley), David Manley, John Manley (Sara Kinion, father of Emerson and Arden Manley), and his youngest—and, as he would proudly say, his babygirl Samantha Mayzes. He also leaves behind grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.
He was a man of simple but meaningful pleasures. Sam loved being near the water, spending his time fishing, and enjoying a good meal, especially when it was cooked by his daughter. He had a gift for fixing just about anything, always willing to lend a hand to those who needed it. Whether it was a broken appliance or a difficult day, Sam showed up, dependable, steady, and ready to help.
Above all, Sam loved Jesus and lived his life with compassion, empathy, and quiet strength. He had a goofy sense of humor that could lighten any room and a heart big enough to hold everyone he cared about.
Sam’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and loyalty. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, South Carolina 29072.
