
Susan Watts Cooper, 70, of West Columbia, SC passed away on February 1, 2021. She was born in Blythewood, SC, July 4, 1950 to the late James A. and Lucy Bell Watts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cooper.
Susan graduated from Blythewood High School and spent her career in property management. She was an avid reader and music lover (especially beach music) and enjoyed spending time with her husband and family at her favorite place – Fripp Island.
She is survived by her children, daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Michael Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Kay Johnson; step-son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Jennifer Cooper; grandchildren, Cyndle White (Quinten), Dean Johnson (Brittany), Noah and Brittany Johnson, Sierra Johnson, Andy and Bree Cooper; great grandchildren, Logan, Jordyn, Kalin, Taylor Devin, Scarlett Belle and Dean Johnson and Arabella White; her sisters, June Smith, Rebecca Watts, and Sandy Boozer (Woody); brothers, James Watts (Mary), Richard Watts (Pam) and Kenneth Watts (Christie); brother-in-law, Ted Cooper (Elaine) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by grandsons, Kalin, Coby, and Taylor Johnson.
Susan’s favorite author was Pat Conroy, and his quote sums up her love of reading: “My soul found ease and rest in the companionship of books.” Rest easy our dear mom, grandmother, sister and aunt. We will miss your laughter and good spirits, but we know you are at peace.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
