Thomas "Tommy" Allen Wood

Thomas “Tommy” Allen Wood, 68, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 16, 2022, with his family by his side. He was greeted in heaven by his father, Billy B. Wood and grandson, Logan M. Wood, along with many other beloved family and friends.

Tommy was born in 1954 in Greer, SC, the only son of Bill and Era S. Wood, and keeping with the Christian faith, had a personal relationship with God. He learned the art and patience of fishing as a young boy from his Grandma and Grandpa Wood and it was his lifelong love, which he graciously passed down to his sons and grandchildren.

Affectionately known as “Pappy” to his 6 grandchildren, he attended many sports activities to cheer them on and was their biggest fan. Tommy dedicated over 40 years in his career with Pitney Bowes, traveling throughout the state of SC. Throughout his life, Tommy enjoyed taking his family camping, traveling to Vegas with his mother, playing weekly card games with his buddies and spending time with his wife of 45 years, Paula. Of of all his life accomplishments, he was most proud of his family.

Tommy is survived by his mother, Era S. Wood, of Columbia, SC; his wife, Paula C. Wood; children, Ashley W. Richardson (Bryan Richardson), Adam B. Wood “Bo” (Crystal P. Wood) and Daniel A. Wood (Brooke C. Wood); grandchildren, Jackson B. Wood, Marya E. Richardson, Sadie E. Wood, Ronnie T. Wood and Dallas A. Wood, all of Charleston, SC.

He was predeceased by his father, Billy B. Wood and grandson, Logan M. Wood.

The funeral service will be held September 23, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel located at 503 N. Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. A visitation will follow service.
