COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Vernon “Bob” List, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday July 29, 2011, at St. Andrews Baptist Church with interment at 1:00 p.m. in Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Mr. List was born on February 3, 1924 in Peoria, IL and passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011. He was a son of the late Wallace A. List and the late Bessie Flugel List. Mr. List was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church. He served his country during World War II in the United States Air Force. Mr. List retired from R. L. Bryan Company. He was a member of Columbia Dirt Dobber Camping Club. Mr. List was an ordained deacon in the 1950’s at Crescent Hill Baptist Church. He also played the trumpet with the 546 Air Force Band in Alpharetta, TX. Mr. List was a volunteer music director at many churches.
Mr. List is survived by his wife, Ida Busby List; daughter, Jan Marie Hutto of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Lisa Hutto and Chris Hutto and great-grandchildren, Deanna Wingard, Nicholas Stewart and Kenny Hutto.
