Ruth Sutter Dare, 84, of Brookville, formerly of Liberty, died December 8, 2019, at Brookville Health Care Center. Ruth was born June 19, 1935 in Mannheim, Germany, to the late Ludwig and Marie Boh Sutter. Early on in life, she proved to be a survivor. Ruth, the oldest of six children, remembered getting off the train and being housed by this brave woman. She believed that somehow the train they had gotten on was headed to one of the concentration camps. Ruth moved to America in 1957 and became a proud U.S. citizen in 1962. She frequently commented what a great country the United States is. She married Keith Dare in 1963 and had 55 good years together before he passed away November 2018. Ruth was known to be a hardworking, determined woman who took pride in the homes she owned, keeping both inside and outside immaculate. It was rare to her catch her idle. Ruth valued her family and friends and was most generous with her time and loyalty. Her energetic, fun, feisty style is going to be missed by those who had the good fortune to know her. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband and five brothers. She is survived by a sister that lives in Germany and by many nieces and nephews.
