Betty Jean Blackwell, 70, Liberty, MO passed away peacefully Sept. 7, 2014. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 13 at First Baptist Church. Visitation will be 9:30 until service time. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse E. Dodd, Sr. and Anna Beatrice Dodd and by her husband, Oswald Blackwell. Survivors include children: Lillian M. (James) Winn, Edward Maurice Slaughter, Tylin Eugene Slaughter, Lisa Kay Slaughter, Lona Michelle Gentry, Steven Todd Blackwell and Laura Lynn Love; 19 grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren and four brothers, Rev. Jesse E. Dodd, Jr., William Dodd, James Patrick Dodd and John Dodd; three sisters, Alice Gantt, Grace Gantt and Myrna Smith and an aunt, Dorothy Reece.
