Betty Marilyn Sabin, 97, of Liberty, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 14th 2019, at the Liberty Hospital. Betty was born July 5, 1922 to William and Beula (Baker) Mathews in Kansas City, Missouri. Upon graduating from high school she married Glenn Sabin before he left for WWII. After the war the couple moved to Colorado where they lived until Glenn’s passing in Oct 1971. Shortly after, she moved to Liberty where she became the bookkeeper for Cook Paint. Betty became an active member of the McMurry Methodist Church, where she assisted with bookkeeping also. After retiring from Cook Pain, she purchased her first computer and taught herself how to use it. With these newfound skills, she did private bookkeeping for a couple local businesses. In 2003, Betty’s last remaining sister, Gloria moved in with her and became a large part of her life. Betty was known for her kindness and loved by all her neighbors. She was a very accomplished seamstress, and made all her clothes. Gloria passed away in Aug of 2013, and Betty never had children. Betty will be missed by all of her church family and close neighborhood friends.
Preceding Betty in death are her husband Glenn, both her parents, and both her sisters; Gloria and Patty.
A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 9:30 am at the New Hope Cemetery, Liberty, Missouri
