Kathryn "Kay" Roth, age 96, of Liberty, Missouri passed away on Thursday May 3, 2018. Kay was born September 25, 1921 in Briggs, Texas to parents Charles and Calista West. Shortly after her birth, her mother passed away and she was raised by her father and step-mother Ella Minerva West in Austin, Texas. Kay spent most of her adult life in Houston, Texas, before moving to Liberty in 1999 with her husband, John W. Roth to whom she was married from 1965 until his death in 2003. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and an active volunteer at Liberty Hospital, accruing over 4,000 hours of service time. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Lorain A. Gunn, her second husband John W. Roth, her daughter Monette Anderson and son James Roth. She is survived by daughters Margie McClelland, LTC ( Ret) Kathleen Roth (Punta Gorda, FL), sons Daniel Roth (Libertyville, IL), Dr. John C. Roth (Townsend, TN), son-in-law David Anderson (Liberty, MO). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Charles Anderson (Erin), Rebekah Anderson, Matthew Anderson (Love), Karen Anderson, Michael Anderson, John David Roth (Jessica), Joshua Roth (Natalie), Ryan Roth (Gretchen), Lauren Grohe (Brian), Jonathan Sliger (Yvonne), G. Elliott McClelland, David McClelland (Jeri Lynne) and 16 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted in Kay's honor on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 10:00 am at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, Liberty, Missouri.
