Marion Junior Rhoads

Marion J. “Dusty” Rhoads Marion J. “Dusty” Rhoads, 90, formerly of Liberty, MO passed away June 27, 2014. Funeral services will be 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 2 at Liberty United Methodist Church, 1001 Sunset, Liberty, MO 64068. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, July 3 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Green City, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church. Dusty was born August 26, 1923 in Sullivan County, Missouri to John Joseph and Mary Lee (Fetters) Rhoads. He was a 1941 graduate of Green City High School. Dusty was a Navy Veteran having served in WWII and Korea. On June 25, 1946 he married Clarene E. “Janie” Drummond. From 1952 – 1986 Dusty was a mechanic and inspector for TWA. Dusty was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 31, Kiwanis Club and V.F.W. Post 4043 where he also served on their Honors Team. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Clarene “Janie” Rhoads, two sons, Randy Rhoads and wife Mary Ann and Richard Rhoads and wife Elizabeth; five grandchildren, Kristin (Sean) Lynch, Kathryn Rhoads, John Rhoads, Beth (Sean) Turk and Katie (Paul) Harris; five great grandchildren, Skyler Rhoads, Isabelle Lynch, Maren Lynch, Dermot Lynch and Owen Turk and numerous nieces and nephews.
