Phyllis Rose Anderson, 95, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away August 2, 2019. Inurnment will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Phyllis was born May 7, 1924 in Lead, South Dakota to Willis “Bud” and Hazel Dye. She graduated from Deadwood High School and worked as a bookkeeper for a few years. Phyllis married John F. Anderson, Jr. after he returned from his tour in the Army Air Force in 1945. They moved throughout Kansas and Missouri and settled in Liberty, Missouri in 1972. Phyllis was the perfect example of a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Hazel Dye; her husband, John F. Anderson, Jr.; and her sister, Beverly Reinks.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Marsha Swainston of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Jeff Anderson of Las Vegas, NV; her grandchildren, Stephanie Laws (Aaron) of Gardner, KS, and Scott Swainston of Stockholm, Sweden; and great-grandchildren, Asher and Brannigan Laws.
