

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, August 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Timothy Pheagin and Rev. John Harmon officiating and military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, July 31 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty and other times at the home of his grandson.
He was the son of the late Verdie and Alta Pugh Nixon and was also preceded in death by his sister, Frances Hutchins; brother, Harry Nixon and great-grandson, Calahan Mosby Nixon.
Surviving is his son, Jimmy Nixon of Franklinville; grandson, Tyson Nixon and his wife, Denise of Liberty; brother, Wesley Nixon of Randleman; sisters, Lillie Mae Seegers of Powhatan, VA, Margaret Lednum of Franklinville and Louise Glasgow of Staley; and his very dear friend, Janice Catoe.
At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
