

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Christian Church, 1712 Pleasant Hill-Liberty Road, Liberty, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with burial following in the church cemetery.
Gary was the son of the late Raymond Hadley and Elvada Ingold McPherson and was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ryan Bailey.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Trudie Fogleman McPherson; daughter, Suzanne Bailey; grand-daughters, Caroline Coble Norris (Corbin) and Lillie Bailey; and sisters, Glenda Stout (Ronnie), Sylvia McPherson, and Phyllis Fogleman (Dale).
Henry had a talent and love for tractor pulling since the early 1970's, where he held the title of Senior Technical Advisor and earned a spot in the UPOC Hall of Fame. He was a long-time farmer and he loved his cows. Playing and watching sports of all kinds was a passion of Henry's, but he especially loved basketball. Henry proudly served our country in the United States Army, and was chosen to be in the Honor Guard for General Douglas MacArthur's funeral. After his time in the service, Henry worked at F.D. Lewis Concrete, later known as Carolina Concrete, Inc., where he held several different positions. He retired from his position as a supervisor after many years of service. Henry loved the Lord and was a long-time member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Christian Church, 1712 Pleasant Hill-Liberty Road, Liberty, NC.
