I worked with Joe at PI for 7 years.  There is no words to describe how much I thought of him, he was kind, considerate, respectful and on and on, my heart hurts.  I was so blessed to have gotten to know him.  Prayers for all his family.  Love you Joe, rest in peace.

My heart breaks over the tragic passing of Joe. My prayers are with all of you.

I work at PI Mechanical during the summer so I always plan a 4th of July luncheon. I make homemade ice cream for dessert. Joe’s favorite was strawberry. I am so happy that I was able to make strawberry ice cream for him. I will think of him each time I make ice cream.  

My heart goes out to the family for losing a son. I  lost one myself in 2008 and it’s something you never get over. We always question why as we are never prepared for death. May God hold your family together as I am sure you all are still grieving over Lucille. We loved her and Carliss  and spent a great deal of time with them years ago. Will keep you guys in our prayers

My heart is so broken to hear this sad news. I am Doc's sister. Rhonda McCoy. Joe was such a big part of our family of friends. He had such a precious soul.
 We will miss him a great deal 💓

We just spent last Sunday afternoon with Joe and we all had dinner together with several of the Doc's Rocks family members.  Joe was a fellow Rock Hounder who was always eager to go dig in the dirt to find what treasure he could. And like the stones we all collect, Joe was an amazing man with multi-faceted talents. He was not only a good friend of ours, but we considered him family. The Doc's Rocks family has truly experienced a heartbreaking loss in this tragic event. Rest in Peace and God speed, our brother and friend! We love you and we'll miss you greatly! You'll not be forgotten! (Trish and Chris Sluss)

Just last weekend he helped my 4 year old find and save worms.  I never heard him say more than two words but he talked to my daughter. She enjoyed hanging out with him and her Uncle Randy during the rockhound.
