Ruby was a native of Randolph County and was employed in Liberty working at surrounding hosiery mills. She was an avid gardener with an incredible green thumb, and she loved traveling. Ruby retired from Onslow County Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville as a LPN after 20 years of service.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 2:00 pm at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Folks officiating; burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 17 one hour prior to the service at Loflin Funeral Home.
Ruby was the daughter of the late C. Banks and Sarah Myrtle Fuqua Farmer;
and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Laurie A Westmoreland, Jr. and
William Carroll Wooten, Jr. and sister, Helen Smith.
Surviving is her son, LaRoy Westmoreland and wife, Rachel of Trinity; niece, Derinda Smith and husband, Randy of Burlington and nephew, Randall Smith and wife, Cindi of Snow Camp.
The family would like to thank the people of Burlington Manor for their compassionate care during Ruby’s stay.
