A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Boggs officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the church.
She was the daughter of the late William Marvin and Cleo Bare Kivett and was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard O. Farmer; sister, Erma Coley; and brothers, Howard David Pike, Herman Kivett, and Don Kivett.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Sherri Smith (Jeff); son, Chris Farmer (Sandra); grandchildren, Michael Farmer, Austin Smith (Stacy), Amy Farmer Parris (Josh), Bethany Smith Fulk (Justin), Camden Smith, and Dalen Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Abigail, Connor, Wesley, Annabelle, Westin, Josephine, and Graham; brother, Jack Kivett (Eva); and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send their most heartfelt thanks to Gibson House and Hospice of Rockingham County.
