He was a long distance truck driver for Landstar Trucking and he truly enjoyed seeing the countryside. Tommy had a great sense of humor who loved telling jokes; he was always willing to help when needed. Working with his hands, especially gardening gave him great joy. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Covenant Church in Greensboro.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, 212 W. Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC. The family will receive friends following the service at Loflin Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Miriam Ann Scotten Kivett and brother-in-law, Henry Ross Shepard.
Tommy is survived by his son, Joshua Kivett and his wife, Brook; daughter, Michelle Kiser and her husband, Mike; father, Forbis Lee "Pete" Kivett; and sisters, Cathy Garrett and her husband, Rick and Susan Shepard; many loving nieces and nephews.
