He was born in Boston, MA on May, 21, 1938 to Benjamin and Mary (Gordon) Rogert and grew up in Cambridge, MA. Irving spent most of his early adult life in Westchester County, New York where he met and married Paula Smith in 1968. Together, they lovingly raised a son and a daughter. Irving moved to Deerfield Beach, FL in 1993 where he happily lived the remainder of his life.
Irving was an Army veteran and enjoyed reading, music, technology and spending time with family and friends. He was also a lifelong pet lover and always exhibited a true compassion for all animals.
He will be remembered for his appreciation of life, saving everything from the lizards that fell into his pool, to the smallest of ants he would find indoors and carry outside, because everything deserved the chance to live the life given to them. Irving loved to laugh, and brought joy to his family with his humor and views on life.
Irving is survived by his son Paul Rogert and wife Charlene Thoma of Brighton, CO; daughter Jennifer and husband Ryan Clement of Boca Raton; and three beloved grandchildren; Chase, Cassie and Bryce Clement of Boca Raton, FL.
He is also survived by his dear friend, Paula Knight, sisters, Shirley Scimone of Deerfield Beach, FL; and Jean and husband Ralph Aserkoff of Brookline, MA. Irving also leaves behind several extended family members and special friends for whom he cared deeply. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
