Robert McCann Esser, born January 17, 1977, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, unexpectedly passed away on July 13, 2025, at his residence in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden passing.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, George Esser and his mother, Jodi Esser. Robert is survived by his brothers, Kelly (Belinda) and Sean (Connie), niece Lily Kai, and nephews Reef and Ethan. Robert leaves behind many other siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Robert moved from Wisconsin with his family to Fort Lauderdale in the early 80s. Robert was the manager of the Boathouse in Fort Lauderdale for over 20 years. He was a familiar face for the incoming yachts. He was very well-known in the yachting community. Robert loved to fish, boat, travel, and spend time with his brother Kelly, celebrating their birthdays together often as they shared the same birth date. Robert was funny, charismatic and full of life.
A celebration of Robert will be held, the first night of the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show commencing, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 7-10 p.m., at the Boathouse, 1601 SE 16th Street, in Fort Lauderdale.
