

Beatrice “Cookie” Jackson, 63, of Toledo, formerly of Lima, died at 7:02 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Toledo Hospital. She was born June 16, 1951, in Lima, to Thomas and Lucille (Harris) Jackson; her father survives in Lima and her mother is deceased.
Ms. Jackson is survived by a daughter, Pamela Jackson, and three granddaughters, Tina, Beatrice and Erin Jackson, all of Toledo, plus five great-grandchildren. She also leaves the following siblings to mourn her absence: Thomas (Connie) Jackson, Jr., of Chicago, Vivian White, Ezekiel (Kim) Campbell and Veronica Payne all of Lima, Terri (Robert) Sanders of Omaha, Traci (Michael) Morning of Tucson, Jonathan Roddy of Toledo and Brenda Jackson of Chicago. She is also survived by several other siblings, a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
Ms. Jackson was a retired sergeant with the State of Ohio Department of Corrections after 35 years of services. She started her career at Lima State Hospital, transferring to Oakwood then to Toledo Corrections upon its opening. She was a member of N.A.B.C.J. and was the chairperson for Toastmasters while at Toledo Corrections.
Services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd., Lima, with Chaplain Charles Dupree officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
