Harrietta Kitty B Jennings Owens Moss

.Harrietta “Kitty” B. Owens Moss, 79, of Lima passed away 4:17 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the OSU Medical Center in Columbus. She was born March 17, 1932 in Carthagena, Ohio to Louis and Bertha Mae (Madden) Jennings. On January 21, 1950 she married James Preston Owens and he passed away February 27, 1989. On June 24, 2000 she married Thomas Moss I, and he survives her in Lima.

Harrietta is also survived by her children: Danny I. Owens of Cleveland, Malikah Muhammad of Lima, Debra Etgen of Columbus, Paula (Lee) Martin of Lima, Kenneth Owens of Columbus, Albert Pickering of Milwaukee, Harold (Beverly) Pickering of Milwaukee, three step children: Thomas Moss II, Katrina McDonald and Paul (Leslie) Moss all of Lima; forty eight grandchildren, two hundred twenty two great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Betty (Leroy) Williams of Dayton. She is preceded in death by her parents and her stepmother: Alice Jennings, a daughter, Michelle, a grandchild, Joy Pickering , her siblings, Edgar Jennings, Clyde Jennings, Orville Jennings, Elnora Payne, Loretta Owens, Edith Cooper, Mildred West, Wyomia Bady, Thelma Jennings and Dorothy Stamper.

Harrietta had been a Finishing Inspector for Continental Plastics and also worked for the Ohio Window Cleaning Co, was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and it’s Altar Rosary Society; a member of the Black Lay Catholic Caucus, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a member of the Local #266 Plastic Allied Workers Union (AFL-CIO).

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at St. John Catholic Church 777 S Main Street Lima. Father David Ross will be the celebrant, and burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Family and friends may call Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home 506 N Cable Rd Lima, Ohio.
