

Joseph Houston Jackson, 74, of Lima, died at 3:20 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Shawnee Manor. He was born Jan. 28, 1938, in LaFayette, GA, to George W. & Velma (Cannon) Jackson, Sr. who preceded him in death.
Mr. Jackson came to Ohio as a young man. He was a self-employed construction worker, had remodeled homes and did excellent tile work. He had also been a maintenance man at several apartment buildings. He was an avid coin collector, bowler and fisherman. He was a member of Bethel Worldwide Church, Silver Spring, MD.
Surviving are three loving daughters: Mrs. Rochelle (Tony) Knox of Rome, GA, Ms. Melissa A. Robinson of Cleveland, OH and Ms. Stephanie D. Jackson of Lima, OH; A son, Reggie (Olivia) Jackson of Tampa, FL; eleven grandchildren: Brandon M. Jones, Quincy D. Jones, Nigel L. Robinson, Sierra M. Jackson, Joseph P. Jackson, DeArin R. Jackson, Kiara Jackson, De’Kaun Jackson, Taylor Ware, Kennedi Knox and Azariah Jackson; one great-grandchild: Chavae Jackson; four sisters: Mrs. Lula Mae Elkins, Mrs. Linda Khalid, Mrs. Helen Madden and Mrs. Geraldine Smith; three brothers: Mr. Timothy Jackson, Mr. Glenn Jackson and Mr. Wilson Jackson; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: James Edward Kirby; three sisters: Ms. Marie Jackson, Ms. Fay Jackson and Ms. Elda Lorean Jackson; six brothers: George W. Jackson, Jr., William Jackson, Oscar Jackson, Archie Jackson, Johnny Jackson and Roland Jackson
Funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, Lima, with Rev. Archie Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson Family Cemetery, Dalton, GA, at a later date.
Family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. Friday until the time of services at the funeral home.
