

Noah V. Sherrick, Jr., 78, of Lima passed away 7:54 p.m. Monday evening, March 9, 2015 at St Rita’s Medical Center. He was born on April 10, 1936 in Elida, Allen County, Ohio to Noah and Hulda (Lippencott) Sherrick who preceded him in death. On June 26, 1971 he married Mary Jo Moneer and she survives him.
He retired in 1999 after nearly 33 years as an electrician with Ford Motor Company. He had previously been employed with Gasdorf Tool and Machine, as well as a welder for Elida Machine & Tool. He loved working with his mind and hands, bowled with the Westgate bowling league, was a member of the local UAW #1219, the Lima Eagles, he had been a Boy Scout leader for Troop 51. He and his wife were DJs for over 11 years. They were known as the Two J’s and Son. They owned Rustik Acres Camp Grounds near Spencerville for many years.
Noah, “Jr” is survived by his children: Dwane (Mindy) Sherrick of Suffolk, Virginia, Carolyn (Ben) Kilgore of Lima, Kevin (Jessica) Sherrick of Fairborn and Dennis Sherrick of Lima; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and his siblings, Nolan “Bud” (Marty) Sherrick, Jim (Pat) Sherrick both of Delphos, and Velva “Tootie”(John) Bruce of Elida and sisters in law: Phyllis Sherrick of Lima and Betty Sherrick of Elida.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Howard Sherrick, Viola Sherrick, Evelyn (Everett) Shadley, Kenny and Earl Sherrick.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME with Pastors Jim Baker and Robert Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow in Van Horn Cemetery in Vanlue, Ohio.
Family and friends may call Friday, March 13, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
