Pamela K. Batty

Pamela Kay Batty, 63, of Lima, died at 12:19 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2017 in Kindred Hospital. She was born May 5, 1953, in Lima, to Theodore and Florence Burkholder who preceded her in death. On July 10, 1981, she married Jimmie H. Thompson, Sr., who died on April 10, 1994. She then married Raleigh L. Batty who survives.

Also surviving are her children: Cherica Thompson and Jimmie H. Thompson, Jr., both of Lima, and Jessica (Daniel) Wright of Cincinnati; her stepchildren: Gail Rae Hill of Dallas, TX, Romaine Lynn (Leroy) Jackson of Lima, Deborah Ann Batty of Mississippi, Karen Sue (Bobby) Dowton and Iris Cousey both of Lima, Lloyd Batty of Joliet, IL, Elton (Ann) Batty of Sidney, Janice (Mark) Savage of Dallas and Mark Batty of Lima. She is also survived by her siblings: Crystal Lapham and Shirley Engle both of Lima, Joyce Steele of Sidney and Bob (Joann) Burkholder of Englewood, FL. She leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Sasha Kay Thompson, plus thirty-four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Tina Chester.

Mrs. Batty worked for over twenty years in extended care as an activities director, which she loved. She was a 1971 graduate of Shawnee High School. She was an Auxiliary member of the V.F.W. Post 1911 and American Legion Post 96, where she served as membership chairwoman.

Her funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Apr. 20, 2017 at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert J. Curtis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
