Ruth K. Hofmann

Ruth K. Hofmann, 91, of Lima, died at 3:37 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2013, at Baton Rouge Senior Health Services Community. She was born July 30, 1921, the daughter of Walter and Ruth C. (Yost) Hofmann who preceded her in death.

Ms. Hofmann was a devout member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and its’ Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of the American Federation of Musicians, #320. She had been an avid stamp collector and a volunteer at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

With her on accordion and her mother on violin, they combined their musical talents in the Ruth Hofmann Duo which they entertained at various venues throughout the Lima area. She was an accomplished accordion player and taught piano for many years at the Zender Kahn music store and in her own home.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2013, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Gethsemani Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior services, Monday, in the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard’s Altar Rosary Society or Lima Central Catholic High School.
