Elaine was born on November 4, 1945, in Kennewick, Washington. She spent much of her life in San Diego, California, where she raised her children and built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and connection.
Elaine shared an extraordinary 60-year marriage with her beloved husband, Terry Banderas. Together, they created a life rooted in deep love, commitment, and family. She was a proud and devoted mother to her son, Derek, and her daughter, Julie, and her love only grew as her family expanded to include five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom she absolutely adored.
Family was at the center of everything Elaine did. She cherished time with her brothers and extended family, doted on her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and created a home where everyone felt welcome. Whether it was gathering around the table, celebrating holidays, or simply spending time together, Elaine had a special gift for making moments feel meaningful.
Elaine had a vibrant and social spirit. She loved talking with friends, visiting, and spending time shopping together. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found joy and community through church.
She also had a creative and expressive side, with many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed calligraphy, took pride in baking and decorating beautiful cakes, and found joy in decorating her home. She was also an avid collector of antiques, each one a small reflection of her personality, memories, and interests.
Elaine will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, her creativity, and the deep love she gave so freely. Her presence brought people together, and her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured and the countless lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
