James Murphy Webb
5 April, 1939 – 4 April, 2021
James Murphy Webb passed away quietly on 4 April 2021 at the age of 81, having lived a full and productive life! He is survived by his three children, Jennifer, Justine and Michael, and their families. Jim was born in Jackson Tennessee on 5 April 1939, was raised in Pine Bluff Arkansas, and graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1956. He attended the University of Arkansas from 1956 to 1963 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Architecture, and a Bachelor of Architecture degree, and came to California shortly thereafter, marrying Sylvia Rankin of Lake Village, Arkansas, the mother of his children, and divorced in 1978. He received his license to practice Architecture in 1966 and a real estate broker’s license in 1976, both of which he held until his passing. He worked for major firms in San Francisco and Northern California, and had his own private practice for several years. He was also active in local political and community organizations for many years. He retired from architecture in 2004 and was successful in a second career in the direct sales industry, becoming a multimillion dollar earner during his 30 year marriage to Candy Webb, from Harlan, Kentucky, whom he met in 1987, and who passed away in December 2017, and continued his success afterwards until his demise. He never remarried. He had a good life and was grateful for the opportunity to do so, having met and worked for some of the more notable Architects of his time, and later to become an icon and published author in the direct sales industry. He is especially proud of his children and their families. His only regret was that life was too short and he wanted to do more.
