Susan Bean Cooper of Lincoln, CA, lost her heroic battle with cancer on June 27th in Sacramento, CA at age 71. Born Susan Mae Bean on July 4th 1946, she attended Hiram Johnson High School and Sacramento City College. She met her future husband, 1st Lieutenant Doug Cooper in 1967 and they were married in 1968. They lived the Air Force Life for over 20 years which included assignments in Texas, Nebraska, Spain and back to California. She performed the role of Air Force Wife taking care of home and children during her husband's frequent deployments to Southeast Asia and, later, to Turkey.
Susan was predeceased by her parents, Clifford M. and Edna M. Bean. She is survived by her husband, retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Doug Cooper, her two children, Aaron and Megan and a sister Donna Magennis.
Active in the Lincoln community and Sun City Lincoln Hills activities, she leaves many friends. A celebration of Susan's life will be held on July 14th at 5:00PM in the Kilaga Springs Clubhouse in Sun City Lincoln Hills, 1167 Sun City Blvd, Lincoln, CA. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Fieldhaven Feline Center, a favorite of Sue, or a charity of your choice.
