

Born in Charles City, IA. August 17th, 1929.
Member of Sheridan Lutheran Church. She was active in many church activities.
Preceded in death by her immediate family, Husband, Kenneth D. Orton (Lincoln, NE.) and daughter, Beth Orton (Austin, TX.). Survived by son James B. Orton (Lincoln, NE.), grandson Zack Orton (Lincoln, NE.), and granddaughter Sofia Orton (Austin, TX).
Anita was a home economics major in college. However she devoted her life to raising her children Beth and Jim. After raising her children she worked for Lincoln Public Schools in the administration dept. She loved the work she did there and did that for several years.
She was an accomplished piano player and urged both Beth and Jim in her love of music. She loved to play piano for the family when they would get together, which was near every major holiday. She would play the piano and the family would sing carols at the holiday festivities.
She loved to cook for the family and made many delicious meals with her sister, Nancy Ross (Iowa City, IA.) and her brother's wife Norma Daasch (Omaha, NE.) for the family at our holiday gatherings.
Anita loved to go to her cabin in MN. During the summers. She was instrumental in keeping the cabin open for all family to come and have a great time, which we all did.
