She was born on September 6, 1935, Bloomington, Nebraska to Otie and Bertha (Bowhay) Pike. She was the youngest of six children.
She married Don Gillham of Blue Springs, Nebraska in 1955. They were married 59 years until his death December 27, 2014.
Betty came to Lincoln in the early 1950s to work at Russell Stovers Candy Factory. In later years she worked for the Knoll's County Club and the VFW Club 131.
Betty is survived by her daughter Kathy (Gillham) Briden of Lincoln; foster daughters: Sheila (Nelson) and Randy Beekman of Lincoln; Jeannie Morehart of Hickman and Cheri Bahr of Falls City; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; brother-in-law Jake Huyett of Holton, Kansas and sister-in-law Dee Pike of Lincoln, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, four brothers one sister and foster son Jack Helmick.
Open House for Betty will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St John's Catholic Church, 7601 Vine Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68505.
