Beverly Taylor (Brown) of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2022, with her husband Bob holding her hand and family by her side singing hymns. Beverly was born to James Eugene and Neva Mary Brown on July 4, 1930 on a farm near Scotia, Nebraska. Bev had seven siblings with one surviving sister, Yvonne Cole (Jim) and sister in laws Aloha Pink (Jim) and Kathy Brown.
Daily chores were a part of her daily life. Her youngest brothers Kenny and Larry were tasked to milk the cows every morning and had fun squirting each other in the early dawn. Bev’s love for art began at an early age when she would sit out on the hills drawing cornfields and Nebraska skylines.
Upon graduating from Scotia High School in 1948, her dream of becoming a nurse was fulfilled when she graduated from the Bryan School of Nursing in 1951. For several years she was a sought-after surgical nurse in the operating room, including assisting with the first open heart surgery in Lincoln.
Bev traded her nursing career for the role of stay-at-home mom after their three children were born. Bev made a commitment to Christ in 1970 and continued growing in her faith and leaves an inspiring legacy of servant leadership. She served as PTA President, assisted Bob with Roffler events, area coordinator for Christian Women’s Fellowship, taught Sunday school, led church prayer teams, and mentored hundreds of women to love the Word of God. Prayer and worship were a daily delight, and she always had a song in her heart.
Bev is survived by her loving husband Robert (Barber Bob) and children Karen Bowling, Tom Taylor (Julie), and Linda Nettleton (Warren). Bev has 8 grandchildren: Jonathan (Kayti) Bowling, Jordan Bowling (Maranatha); Trevor Taylor (Lauren), Drew (Emily) Taylor; Jason (Ashley) Nettleton, Thomas (Bailey) Nettleton, Julia (Paul) Damrow, Tricia (Jarrett) Stoppel and 16 great grandchildren.
