Bobby R. Thomson, 84 of Lincoln, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 2, 2021 in his home with family by his side. Bobby was born on the family farm in rural Palmyra and attended Palmyra District 8 School. On May 5, 1957, Bobby married Joyce (Phillips) and they were married 60 years before Joyce’s death in 2017. To this union two daughters were born, Lynette (Bobby) Becker of Denton, NE and Kristen (Todd) Johnson of Cambridge, NE. Grandchildren are T.J. Griess, Palmyra; Tiffany Thurman, Lincoln; Whitney Thurman, Denton; Sydney (Stu) White, Wilcox, NE; Isaac (Breezy) Johnson, Cambridge and Sloan Johnson, Cambridge. Eight great-grandkids. Also survived by sister, Roberta Biggs, Belton, TX; brother-in-law, Royal Halvorsen, Sun City, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by wife Joyce; parents Robert & Elva (Ostrander) Thomson; in-laws Hiram & Pearl (Gannaway) Phillips; sister, Kay Halvorsen and brother-in-law Robert L. Biggs.
Bobby accepted Christ as his Savior at a Billy Graham Crusade in Omaha in 1964. Bobby was a member of Temple Baptist Church for 50 years. He had been a Deacon, Trustee and drove the van on Wednesday nights for Awana. Bobby was raised on the farm and was a farmer thru and thru even though he always had a full time job in Lincoln all his adult life.
Public Visitation will be held Monday, April 5, 2021, 5:00 - 7:00pm, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 6, 2021, 2:00pm, at Temple Baptist Church. 4940 Randolph St, Lincoln, NE. Interment to follow at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. 6700 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE.
