I am so sorry to hear of Brett’s passing. We didn’t know one another well, but he was so kind, hardworking and giving! I so appreciated his commitment to keeping the Barnabas Community safe during the nastiest of weather!

Brett and Jolynn were always incredibly welcoming people who cared about everyone they interacted with. They always treated us like family, and were always there if we ever needed anything. I’ve known Brett for the last few years mainly from his passion for fireworks, and you know what he could put on a firework show with the best of them. I considered Brett a friend, and I know that I’m a better person for having the opportunity to have known him.

Brett could talk with anyone about anything, I think that’s the thing I’ll remember most. He had an impact on so many different people for so many different reasons. He was so invested in conversation that you knew he truly cared about who you were and what you had to say.

My deepest condolences to his wife Jolynn and their families during this difficult time. We will be thinking about and praying for comfort for all of you during this time.

Brett has always and will forever be a good guy! I'm so sorry for your loss.   He will never be forgotten!

I've known Brett since the early 90's. He was always cracking jokes way back then. We met back up through the fireworks community a few years back. He even came out and did some landscaping for me as well a few years ago. 
I was shocked to hear of his passing. My condolences and prayers to his family and friends. 🙏

To my great friend and brother in Christ, I will never forget you Brett! I never got the chance to properly express my gratitude for your Christian example of sacrifice and generosity towards me and my family. I am a better man today because of you. From our long discussions about Jesus, to our many hours of working together creating shows for the purpose of glorifying God, you treated me with such charity for as long as I have known and especially your last few days here on earth. Thank you so much for that.  To Jolynn and family: Brett spoke of you with such love and admiration. You filled his life with joy! He always said that. My heart goes out to all of you. I called you Fergi since we were 14 years old. From slicing roast beef at our first job at Arby’s. Brett you were such an amazing friend. Your love for fireworks exploded when you helped my father with his fireworks stand in Hickman when you were 16–17 yrs old. We blew up everything we could.  I remember you telling me hey we’re gonna be millionaires because we’re gonna own all the stands in Nebraska. I just laughed, and always said Brett I will probably hate Fireworks after my parents made me work every summer. Well, 18 years ago, I opened up my own stand. Brett was right there beside me telling me what I needed to do, and how I could do things better and what to buy. Here around 3  years ago, I decided that I was only buying from Brett. Brett could tell me what every single item did. I would tell him, Brett, I only want the best. He always assured me that I had the best Fireworks, and I always did. Our love for Fireworks and our friendship lasted forever. I will miss you Fergie. You preached the word of Jesus you made me a better believer  a better person because of  you.  Jesus needed you up there for all the beautiful firework shows. You were the best in the state of Nebraska. Every show you made sure that everything was spectacular. I’m gonna miss our 5 minute phone chats because you were always so busy doing something. Now if I said the word firework you’re like hold on let me pull over so I can talk to you.. lol 😆 haven  gained an angel. Rest easy my friend. Show Jesus and crazy Dave  my Father the best firework shows in heaven.

We met through associate friends back 93.    After couple social gatherings when he lived off 24th south.     And even at fireworks events.    And a guy who had known him many years.  
Even in my career and life.  It calms me to know our relationship with God was close.    The great ones get called home too soon.   And I'm sure your family will miss you.   But as a christ follower we understand the journey, and the calling....        Rest easy and your mind is at peace now.    
God bless the family and know he was valued as a great human in the world we call life.

I will always remember Brett as he was. Exactly how he was known on this memorial.  He was never shy about helping somebody or trusting someone.  He felt everybody deserved a chance or even two. He was a great friend and pyro brother. He will be well missed and I will always have a celebration or memorial every year on the 4th for him. Hope you all remember how great he was and carry him with you through this. He will never be forgotten and will be a part of my life for years to come. Love you, brother and hope his family sees how he changed people around him. I hope his family can make it through this difficult time. He was a amazing guy. 🎆🎇🧨✨️🎊🧧
