

Clarence Ronald Collier, 93, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on May 5, 2026. He was born January 2, 1933, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Clarence and Mable (Logan) Collier. Because his father worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad, the family moved frequently during his early years
Drafted into the United States Army during the Korean conflict, Clarence served from January 1953 to January 1955. Stationed in Korea as an engineer, he helped build bridges. After his discharge, he continued in engineering, working for Kowasaki in Lincoln, and later with Local 2 Sheet Metal Union in Kansas City, Missouri. He retired from Hampton Construction in Lincoln, where he worked as a carpentry finisher.
In 1972, Clarence married Donna Briggs in Yankton, South Dakota. Together they raised eight children, and spent most of their years in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Clarence enjoyed fishing, hunting and an occasional trip to the casino where he would play Buffalo slot machines. He was a great mentor to his children and grandchildren, often helping them with home projects and offering practical guidance through his time, his hands, and his example. He was also a long-time member of the Waverly V.F.W.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mable Collier; daughters Kathy Francisco and Diana Alley and son Larry Collier. His sister, Margaret Collier; his brothers, Robert and Lyle Collier; and his stepbrothers , Merlin and Ivan Slosson.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Donna; his children Julie (Rick) Floodman, Cindy Gould, Annette (Marvin) Schoonover, Rodger (Holly) Alley and Dorene (Randy) Johnson; as well as 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Celebration of Clarence's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family.
