I first met Damon when he transferred to Crete High School my freshman year, circa 1987, we were on the high school wrestling team.  Damon, with his incredible/outgoing personality was an immediate superstar at Crete High and from there we became life long friends!   He was one of the most influential people i have ever met, always had the highest energy, the most accommodating to new friends and was always up for anything!   During our college years at the University of Nebraska you could always find Damon and I at the foosball table at our favorite watering hole...Iguanas.   After college and Damon made his way out to San Diego and influenced my wife Jaime and I to visit him and Emily often.  They would take us to all of the best places (World Famous on PB of course) and then out to bay tours with either his boat or on his good friend Raz's boat.  So fun!   We eventually made our way west and landed in Phoenix, where Damon & Emily would come out to visit often.  One time, he found out last minute we were having a 4th of July BBQ, and just like Damon, he was on the next flight out to Phoenix to attend our party...he would never miss the chance for a good time.    Although we didn't see each other as often over the past few years, we made a point to talk every month or so about family and the adventures each of us had taken.   Of course, Damon could write a book on world travels...one lucky guy.   I miss him dearly and he will forever by in our hearts and minds.  Love, Troy & Jaime Norris

Damon is someone who I have always held near and dear in my heart!  He was really my best friend growing up and we had years of fun experiences throughout high school, college and even into his early flight training years!  We spent hours together doing the most random things. One summer we decided to learn to play chess and must have played that game for hours on end.  Then I developed a love for sewing and Damon would help me cut out patterns and even run the sewing machine.  He often came up with adventures and he loved his old car he called “Rotten”!  He would come flying up with a canoe on top of the car and I knew then it was going to be a fun day!  I have so many Damon stories but one of my favorites was when we were in high school and he insisted that I try Elk. He had got together an entire meal and we went out to one of the lakes and he grilled up elk and potatoes and had dessert and everything.  The elk and the meal  was amazing but what was even better was spending hours going over all the dreams and ideas about life we both had!  I was set on medical school and he was dreaming of becoming a pilot!  He loved the outdoors and he loved people.  Damon did not know an enemy and it seemed like anyone he met was soon a good friend!  I will be forever grateful for the years of memories I had with him and want to send my deepest condolences to his family!  

During the late 80’s and early 90’s Damon was a regular at our house.  He dated my daughter Kelly and was good friends with my son Justin.  We had so many good laughs together.  Damon was always cheerful and helpful and the life of the party.  One of his favorite stunts was to fly a light plane over our house and throw out 10 rolls of TP!  
I will always remember his little red car with one headlight up and one down.  He would come whizzing in our lane and drive our dogs wild.   
My husband Sheldon was proud when Damon asked him to swear him into the Navy after graduating from ROTC.  He was on his way to his dream of being a jet pilot.  I remember him doing his eye exercises at our house since glasses were a no no.   
I have lots of pictures from the proms and special occasions he was always part of.   
We will all remember him with smiles and love.  My sincere condolences to his family and many friends.

When we were about 16 we got Damon’s dads bronco stuck in a huge mud hole out by salt creek. We were able to get it out and washed it the best we could. I’m not sure if we got away with it? I was in a deep hole helping push. 😊 Damon was one of the nicest people I’ve ever known ☹️ My sincere condolences to his family.
