Eugene Arthur Rorabaugh

Eugene “Gene” A. Rorabaugh Sr. age 89 of Cedar Falls, IA formerly of Lincoln died on April 19, 2016. He was born on April 14, 1927 in Beatrice, NE to Jesse and Elizabeth Bradbury Rorabaugh. He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific during World War II. Eugene married Irene Dirksen on February 3, 1948 in Beatrice. He worked for Nebraska Public Power his entire working career. Gene is survived by his wife Irene of Cedar Falls, his sons, Butch and Denise Rorabaugh of Winthrop, IA, Jim Rorabaugh of Colby, KS, daughter, Sharon and Troy Gerhardt of Omaha, grandchildren, Heather and Daniel Brown of Cheyenne, WY, Audrey and Jeff Housel of Burlington, IA, Joseph and Matt Rorabaugh-Irwin of Kansas City, KS, Jesse Rorabaugh of Red Wing, MN, Jacki Rorabaugh of Atlanta, GA, Makayla Gerhardt of Brooklyn, NY. Great-grandchildren, Oscar, Brinley and Malia. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roy, sister, Catherine Trimble, and his grandson, Bryce Gerhardt. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:30 am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will be at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Bryce Gerhardt Memorial Scholarship.
