Evelyn Niehaus, 96, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in Maryville, Missouri. She was born on August 12, 1929, in Whiting, Kansas to Elmer and Anna (Brandt) Klahr.
She married Bill G. Niehaus on January 12, 1951, in Netawaka, and had their four children in Kansas. In 1961 they moved to Falls City, Nebraska. Evelyn received her teaching degree from Peru State College. She worked in a garment factory as a seamstress, in an insurance agency, and taught elementary school for several years. In 1976 they moved to Lincoln and Evelyn worked for NETV until her retirement. She loved to sew, quilt, craft, crochet, ceramics and needlework.
She is survived by: Her children: Patricia (James) Danner, Maryville, MO, Nancy (Galen) Milligan, Lincoln, NE, Alan (Brenda) Niehaus, Pasco, WA, and Linda (Harlan) Henke, St. Joseph, MO. Six grandchildren, Amy (Devin) Flaig, Aaron Danner, Cale (Kari) Milligan, Jessica (Jason) Adelaine, Allison (Matthew) Krautmann, Alexander (Megan) Niehaus. Eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. One brother, Delmer Klahr and one sister, Betty Ann Barnes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters.
Services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, 2:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church 2001 S. 11th Lincoln, NE 68502. Visitation one hour before services. Graveside service following at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
