Gale Eugene Breed Sr.

Breed, Gale Eugene Sr. Died June 14, 2016 in Lincoln, NE at the age of 95. Gale was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-seven years, Clara Belle, his parents and sister. Gale was born April 16, 1921 to Elmer and Lorine Breed of Havensville, Kansas. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and after the war graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in vocational agriculture. After teaching for two years, he entered the insurance industry. He retired from that industry after nearly fifty years of service in 2002. Gale was a kind and gentle soul, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was an optimist believing in the overall goodness of people. He enjoyed golf with friends and the companionship of the family dogs. Most of all he loved and was proud of each member of the Breed family. He is survived by sons and daughters-law, Gale E. (Jr.) and Becky Breed of Lincoln, Roger and Judy Breed of Elkhorn, Max and Janelle Breed of Lincoln, and Brian and Daren Breed of West Lafayette, IN; grandchildren Monica (Chris) Carithers, Allison (Ivyl) Boyce, Tyler (Brianne) Breed, Adam (Sara) Breed, Kelsey (Jeremy) Cutsor, Chelsea (Peter) Primason, Cailyn (Blake) Jenkinson, Kevin Breed, Kyler Breed, Claire Breed; and seventeen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Vine Congregational United Church of Christ, 1800 Twin Ridge Road, Lincoln, NE 68506. Lunch and fellowship will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Vine Congregational or the Lincoln Humane Society.
