Gary Buhrmann passed away on April 21, 2026. Gary was born on October 31, 1952 and grew up on a farm near Martel, Nebraska with his parents Leo and Loma and brothers Roger and Steve. He graduated from Crete High School in 1971.
Gary loved the great outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, deep-sea fishing and camping.
Throughout his work life, Gary farmed, worked at Gooch Mills, construction and the Lancaster County Engineering Department.
Gary lived for the past 25 years on an acreage near Bennet, Nebraska with his partner Kathy Tenopir.
Gary is preceded in death by his father Leo Buhrmann, mother Loma Rader, brothers Roger and Steve Buhrmann and labs Maxwell and Cobbie.
He is survived by is partner Kathy Tenopir, nieces Micheline Buhrmann (Kevin Oswald), Angela Hammitt (Mike), Cheri Kiser, Chrystal Buhrmann (Mark Thimijan) and great nieces and nephews Samantha, Christian, Ella, Noah, Jorja and Adelyn.
A reception to celebrate Gary's life will be held at Lincoln Memorial 6800 So. 14th St. Lincoln, Nebraska on May 8, 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Dress is casual.
