Harold Eugene Thomas passed away peacefully on May 15, 2021. Harold was born to Lawrence and Jennie (Ruby) Thomas of Callaway, Nebraska, on December 15, 1944. He was a small business owner, college graduate, umpire of countless baseball and softball games, and an avid player of Texas Holdem. He loved to fish, and you can bet if there was a John Wayne western on, he'd be watching it. He enjoyed a glass or two of beer and a good belly (which he always said was "bought and paid for") laugh. He was a frequent fixture in the backyard of his brother's house in Callaway retelling stories of his youth with a mischievous grin at Pioneer Picnic days. He was a proud grandfather to Michael (Storm) Corey, Skylar (Mark) Rinne, Cameron Field and great grandfather to Oliver Rinne. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Evelyn Ellis, brothers Robert (Betty) and Ralph (Margaret) Thomas. He is survived by sister Geraldine Tompkin, and brothers Lowell (Marilyn) and Floyd (Virginia) Thomas; and children, son Chuck Thomas and daughters Tammy Lange and Stacey (David) Field, honorary daughters Carolyn Tingle and Susanne (Lynn) Longmore, and many nieces and nephews who checked in with him often.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Callaway, Nebraska at a later date.
