James E. Burnett, Born Dec. 27, 1934, Lincoln, NE. to Lynn and Eula Burnett. As a child, he moved to Scottsbluff where he attended high school. He joined the Marines for 4 years, where he received an honorable discharge. He then joined the NE State Patrol, where he eventually retired as a Captain. During his Captain years he also continued his education and went on to graduate from the FBI academy. After his retirement from the State Patrol he was US Marshall for the Federal Building and Governor’s Mansion for several years James was an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed NE football. Preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Lou (Rahmann). Survived by son David Burnett; daughter Holly Burnett; grandsons Josh, Cody, and Logan; brother Robert Burnett and 4 sons, Rodney, Steve, Ricky, and Jimmy; special niece Cindy Rahmann; nieces, nephews, and many other family members. Services will be held Saturday Feb. 20th at 11:30, at Lincoln Memorial, at 6800 S. 14th st. Inurnment at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with Veteran Honors at a later date.
