Karen Elizabeth Walker

She graduated from Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1977. After high school, she moved to Lincoln with her parents. She was employed by an insurance company for over 35 years and performed various job functions. She was then employed for over 10 years by the Immigration office in Lincoln until her retirement in June of 2024. Karen loved antique shopping and watching and attending Antique Roadshow. She enjoyed going to concerts and listening to Elton John. Karen and Kenny met at work in 2000. They spent the last 24 years going on various trips to Hawaii, Arizona, and Branson. She loved Kenny's children and grandchildren unconditionally. Above everything else, she dearly loved her daughter, Kelly and granddog, Ted.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly of Lincoln, Nebraska; life partner, Kenny Dredge of Lincoln; brothers, Glenn (Nancy) Brooks of Prescott, Arizona, Bill (Debbie) Brooks of Burlington, Connecticut, Robert Brooks of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Shirley Juhl of Council Bluffs, Iowa; step-children, Michael Williams (Liz Stephens) of Papillion, NE, Brandon Dredge of Lincoln, Austin (Andrea) Dredge of Lincoln, Danielle Dredge of Lincoln, NE; mother-in-law, Dorothy Jones of Quincy, IL; brothers-in-law, David Dredge of Dallas, TX, Robert (Joelene) Dredge of Fremont, NE, Steve Dredge of Houston, TX, Mike Dredge of Lincoln, NE, Jerry Dredge of Canton, MO; sisters-in-law, Georgia (Richard) Tournear of Quincy, IL, Donna (Robert) Stuenkel of Dodge, NE; step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Norma Brooks; and her brother, John Brooks.

Our hearts are heavy, but we take comfort in knowing her light lives on in the lives she touched and the family she adored. Her legacy of love, grace, and class will forever inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any animal shelters.
