Lonnie grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln Southeast High school in 1966. Soon after, Lonnie served his country in the U.S. Army from November 1967 to November 1969. After his service, he lived in southern California working at the U.S. Post Office and earning a degree in landscaping and horticulture. In 1985, he returned with his family to his home city and state, Lincoln, Nebraska.
Lonnie loved classic American muscle cars. He often attended car shows in Lincoln and surrounding communities, sometimes driving there in his high school ride—his beloved 1957 Chevy. He would also drive his more recent hobby car, his 1967 Camaro that was still in the process of being restored when he passed.
Survivors: Pam Marsh, daughter Shannon (Rick) Becker, grandsons Richie and Zachary Becker, and brother Gary (Sandy) Francisco and a niece and nephew. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Lonnie’s life will take place 2 p.m. on Monday, January 31 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street. Memorials may be made to the Friendship Home of Lincoln or The Cat House. Condolences may be left at lincolnfh.com
