Marcella "Marcie" Lachance

Marcie Lachance, age 86, of Lincoln, NE, passed away Wed., 5/28/25. Born 6/9/38 in York, NE, to Henry and Edna (Raymer) Berger. Graduate with BS Elementary Education from Nebraska Wesleyan, having taught for nearly 40 years.

Marcie had the magical ability to connect with her schoolchildren by being hands on and by nurturing their own potential. She truly loved to sing with her kids, developed themed artwork projects and creative curriculum, and engaged the parents with invitations to programs and special outings. There were multiple occasions when she encountered many of her kids in later years that greeted her as ‘Miss Marcie.’

Marcie loved family get-togethers and cooking and baking for special occasions and holidays. She took pride in attending every activity and event that involved her kids and grandson. She was a member of Lincoln Public Schools PTO and a volunteer, in addition to Girls and Boys Scouting. She loved traveling to Las Vegas, frequent shopping trips, outdoor gardening, and a good margarita.

Marcie is survived by daughters Lori Lachance, Lisa Peterson, grandson Luke Peterson, son Joe Lachance, sister and brother-in-law Maryellen and Wayne Aue, Lisa’s companion Jon Quissell, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband Ed, parents, sisters Jeanne Griffin (Fred), Monica Sukovaty (Norbert), Marilyn Geis, and special friend Ray Herweg.
