passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born on June 4, 1937, in Beatrice, Nebraska, Mariellen was the
daughter of Florence and Roy Hoffstaedt, who along with her sister,
Merleen, lived on a farm outside Clatonia, Nebraska.
Mariellen graduated from Clatonia High School and went on to earn her
nursing degree from the Lincoln General Hospital School of
Nursing, beginning a lifelong commitment to care and compassion.
In 1958 Mariellen married Lurelle Albert and started their family in
Lincoln Nebraska, later moving to Texas, where they made their
home in Paris and later Daingerfield, raising their three sons: Larry,
Mark, and Russell.
She was a cherished member of First United
Methodist Church in Daingerfield and a dedicated participant in the
United Methodist Women, passionately supporting various
charitable efforts. She found immense joy in sewing, quilting, and
painting —talents she generously shared to support her family,
church and community.
Mariellen was preceded in death by her husband Lurelle, her parents
Florence and Roy, her son Russell and her sister Merleen. She is
survived by her sons Larry and Mark, along with daughters in law
Alecia and Melanie and friends who will remember her warmth,
strength, and unwavering kindness.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched through her work as a
nurse, her devotion to family, and the quiet grace with which she
lived
