Marjorie Ann (Weyers) Rader was born June 24, 1935, in Sterling, Nebraska, to Henry and Elisebeth (Boden) Weyers. Marjorie graduated from Burr High School, in 1952. On July 18, 1953, she married Charles Rader at the Lutheran Church in Sterling, Nebraska. Together they had two children, Michael born in 1954 and Dennis in 1956. Throughout her adult life, Marjorie worked for Russell Stover Chocolates, Parker Bruning Manufacturing (retired in 1999), and Waverly Public Schools. She and Charles had seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Marjorie was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, and she and Charles were joined Peace Lutheran Church in Waverly, Nebraska, in 1974. Marjorie was actively involved in the Women’s Bible Study at Peace Lutheran Church and helped to coordinate the group, always enjoying their time together. Charles passed away in 2019, after more than 65 years of marriage. Marjorie enjoyed spending time with her family and tending to her beloved outdoor birds and flowers. Each year, she hosted family and friends at her home for the annual Waverly Fourth of July parade celebration.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles, her parents, Henry and Elisebeth (Boden) Weyers, and her siblings Agnes (Weyers) and Arnold Klein, Mylon (Bud) and Darlene (Arent) Weyers, Maxine (Weyers) and Elmer Steinkuhler). Those remaining to mourn her passing include her children Mike (Sue) Rader and Dennis (Kristie) Rader, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and siblings Bette (Weyers) and Floyd Headley, Gilbert (Gibb) and Velma Weyers, and Larry and Lois Weyers.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home & Cemetery, 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE 68512. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church, 9831 N. 145th St, Waverly, NE 68462. In lieu of flowers, memorials are designated to Peace Lutheran Church in Waverly, NE, Lutheran Hour Ministries and Mission Central. Arrangements entrusted to Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Lincoln, NE.
